Nursery Organization Tips

We will never understand how such a tiny human can have/need so much stuff! To keep your sanity in check (especially during those middle of the night feedings) take some time before baby arrives to organize the nursery. Knowing exactly where everything is and making a designated ‘spot’ for all those diapers, wipes, onesies and swaddles will make your transition to motherhood a breeze.

Closet:

You would think since baby’s clothes are so tiny that you wouldn’t need to think of creative ways to store them...wrong! By the time baby arrives you will have so many onesies and cute little outfits (in all sizes) you won’t know what to do with everything.

A great trick we love is to store any folded clothing in a hanging cloth shoe organizer! It saves space and is a cute addition to the closet. Tip: group baby clothes by size, this way you know exactly what shelf to grab from!

Dressers:

The great thing about baby clothes is that they are short and small! You will have plenty of room under the outfits hanging in the closet, so don’t let all that space in the lower half go to waste! If you’re running short on space in the nursery put your dresser or a modular storage unit in the closet! This is a life saver when you need that extra storage but don’t have the real estate in the room.

Store frequently used items in the top drawers (bibs, onesies, burp cloths, etc.) and invest in some drawer dividers to help keep those little items separated!

Changing Table:

Neatly organizing a changing table can be tricky. There are so many items that need to be within arms reach. Think outside the box and stash supplies in nontraditional containers like: canisters, pails, letter holders, fabric bins/pots, etc.. Opt for items that are open or see-through for fast and easy access. These kitchen canisters and perfect, see-through and can be labeled!

Store everything from lotion and diapers to cotton swabs and diaper cream! Cute and functional!

Wall Space:

Utilize all that wall space and think about storage vertically! Simple storage solutions on the walls can be super fun and cute while also being useful. Hanging baskets, floating shelves, or book rails can help to save on footprint. Mix and match to create a functional wall mural! Combine these wire baskets with these modern floating shelves for a stylish design with a practical purpose!

Display items like baby books, keepsakes, blankets, or anything that you don’t use often.
