Introducing Park Heights: Celebrating Child Craft's 70 Years of Safety and Innovation

Since 1954, Child Craft has been at the forefront of safety and innovation in nursery furnishings. Three generations of families (or more!) have brought their babies home to a Child Craft crib. In celebration of our upcoming 70^th anniversary, we are thrilled to release a new limited-time anniversary collection – Park Heights.  

Featuring premium materials and upscale designs elements, Park Heights is the latest addition to Child Craft’s high-end Legacy Collection. The Park Heights pieces are produced in the United States, and in fact are crafted in Ohio’s Amish Country, just down the road from Child Craft’s headquarters.

Because Park Heights is fully constructed and shipped within the United States, Child Craft was able to greatly reduce the typical carbon footprint for a high-end furniture collection. Park Heights also features more efficient material usage and minimized waste to further boost its sustainability; our engineers actually tweaked the design a bit to ensure that each crib uses just one sheet of MDF [medium density fiberboard, a common crib material].

Park Heights bolsters Child Craft’s proud tradition of safety and quality with a bold, modern feel that elevates any nursery or sleeping space. The collection comes in two upscale finishes – Caviar Black and Matte White – and includes five artisan heirloom quality pieces constructed with premium hardwoods:

Whether for a nursery or a bedroom (the crib can be converted to a full-size bed), the collection’s ultra-modern color palette, luxurious finishes, thoughtful design details, and high-quality construction will infuse any room with distinctive style.   

Bold, Modern and Sustainable

Park Heights is the brainchild of Child Craft’s Lead Product Designer, Brandy Witt, who spent three years designing the collection and coordinating production with local artisans. 

“It was such a unique experience working with builders in Amish country,” says Brandy. “While there is less of a focus on speed and their manufacturing capabilities aren’t as robust as more modern manufacturers around the globe, there’s a real focus on quality.” 

“My creative vision for the Park Heights collection was to incorporate unique designs and bold, modern features into a nursery collection without becoming overwhelming,” she adds. “For example by using rich, upscale painted finishes for the body of the pieces, we were able to emphasize the arching design features present in the Brazilian hardwood legs and pulls. We also incorporated rounded detailing in the pulls, legs, and oval crib slats in line with current contemporary furniture trends.”
